Basic Attacks[]
Basic combo | Damage pattern (% of damage stat) | Total (including Combo Ender) |
---|---|---|
Light (Combo Ender) | 2% - 2% - 2% - (3%) | 9% |
Heavy | 4% - 4% - 4% | 12% |
Like all versions of Sinestro, the last hit of his heavy combo can be interrupted by a special attack even while not blocking.
Passive[]

Sinestro Regime gains 25% of his power when an opponent tags out.
Sinestro Regime is a strong offensive Silver card. His strong damage packs a punch and can hit opponents very thoroughly. He is deadly when his opponents enjoy tagging in and out characters around since he gains some power back to compensate - this can give you a quick special attack to utilize.
Just like his Prime counterpart, if an opponent tags in after Sinestro knocks out their teammate, his passive is not triggered. It is unaffected by power generation boosts and dampenings.
Previously, his passive was bugged, as he used to gain lesser power than what is stated in his passive. It is later fixed and now it works correctly.
Interactions[]
Please note that battles are highly situational: this section only mentions cards that have mechanics that, for any reason, are particularly effective with/against, or particularly ineffective against Sinestro. Having a card that "counters" Sinestro does not mean it is always a good choice.
Good With[]
Good Against[]
- Hawkgirl/Prime: Sinestro benefits from the opponent tagging in and out.
- Killer Frost/Prime: His passive is unaffected by her power dampening.
Countered By[]
- Characters and gears that have dangerous tag effects:
- Bane/Luchador, The Flash/Earth 2, and Cloak of Destiny: Their tag-in stun will prevent Sinestro from using specials, as well as leaving Sinestro vulnerable for a powerful attack.
- Green Arrow/Rebirth: One of his trick arrows can drain power on tag-in, nullifying Sinestro's passive.
- Nightwing/Batman Ninja: Same as above.
- Raven/Rebirth: Same as above, although more punishing.
Abilities[]
Here are Sinestro's abilities.
Ability | Classification | Description | Usage |
---|---|---|---|
Death from Above | First Special | In a show of extreme might, Sinestro calls down a meteor to flatten his opponent. | Rapid Tap |
Unrelenting Fury | Second Special | Sinestro unleashes a volley of pain upon his victim. DRAINS POWER. | Quick Tap, Swipe |
Sinestro's Might | Super Move | Sinestro demonstrates the depths of his limitless power on his unfortunate victim. UNBLOCKABLE. | Tap |
Sinestro’s SP2, “Unrelenting Fury” can be chained from his heavy basics, making the strong Power Drain unavoidable. It requires extremely precise timing, however. On the other hand, not tapping even once on the Quick Tap of Sinestro’s SP2 will only make Sinestro perform the 1st hit - therefore, no strong power drain.

Trivia[]
- He, along with Black Adam/Regime, and Doomsday/Regime are the only BOSS characters (colored RED, instead of silver) to have an additional Special Attack that is not usable by players. It is based on the "In Blackest Day" combo string.
