Demonic Embrace: Special attacks have a chance to drain 25% health and power. Raven receives all health and power that has been drained. |
Teen Titans Raven, usually considered the most powerful version of Raven in offense, is a potent damage dealer with one of the most devastating SP2 in the game. She can be also a great support with the ability to control the fight with her specials, each of which has a chance to simultaneously steal power and health.
Strategy[]
Basic Attacks[]
Basic combo | Damage pattern (% of damage stat) | Total |
---|---|---|
Light (Combo Ender) | 2% - 2% - 2% - (4% - 3%) | 13% |
Heavy | 4% - 4% - 4% | 12% |
Her heavy combo is very fast and easy to juggle, while her combo ender consists of 2 hits instead of 1.
Passive[]
Teen Titans Raven can be a very devastating card if used correctly. While her health stat isn't spectacular, it is assisted by the ability to heal herself by a large amount. After she uses a special, Raven's passive has a chance to activate (estimated 25% chance for SP1, 50% chance for SP2), dealing 25% of the opponent's max health as damage and restoring 25% of Raven's health (regardless of the damage dealt; this is not Life Drain) and stealing 25% power. Opponents immune to power drain will not lose power as a result of Raven's passive, but Raven will still gain power.
Damage from Raven's passive can KO an opponent and won't trigger Tantu Totem's power refund. However, since the damage has a slight delay after the special, it is possible for the opponent to tag out right after the special finishes but before the passive damage applies. The damage is still dealt, but as it is impossible to KO a tagged-out opponent, if they are at or below 25% max health, they are left at 1 health instead of being KO'd.
Invulnerability on Raven's opponent prevents damage, but not the power drain or Raven's healing. Even if the special's damage was negated by Invulnerability, as her passive triggers slightly after the special, it can damage and power drain if the Invulnerability wears off right after the special.
Raven's passive can activate even when the opponent is blocking when she uses a special (passive's damage is displayed as a "block breaker", but does not actually break the block; it simply deals the same damage regardless of block), and it can affect an incoming opponent if the last hit of a special knocks out a target. The damage from her passive is unlike Batgirl/Cassandra Cain's—Raven's passive drains 25% of her opponent's max rather than current health.
The health stolen is reduced by universal damage reduction, which is provided by Batman Ninja Helmet, Batman/Batman Ninja's passive, Shazam/New 52's passive, and Brandished Ninjato.
Black Adam/Regime and Black Adam/Prime's orbs are able to reflect the damage Raven. Usually, this doesn't mean much for Raven, however when facing a Black Adams with much higher health than Raven, she could take more damage than she would heal. For example, in higher rounds of Survivor, Black Adam/Regime could have 1,000,000 health, if Raven's passive activates against him, he'll reflect 75% of the 25% damage he took, meaning she'll take 187,500 damage.
It is recommended to pair her with Green Lantern/Regime, Harley Quinn/Animated, Wonder Woman/600, and/or Batgirl/Prime with certain gear(s), all of which serve to increase Raven's power generation so that she can use her special attacks more frequently.
Gear[]
Since her SP2 is so powerful and has a very high chance to trigger her passive, it's recommended to focus on her SP2. She will also disappear in the first half of her SP2, ignoring Raven/Prime's dangerous health swap. Her signature gear, Demonic Cloak, is a great choice for her, as the power generation, SP2 crit, and SP2 life drain are helpful. However, there is a strange interaction between her passive, and gear life drain. This is most easily observed with LexCorp Chest Armor V2, which has a 99% chance to life drain on SP2, but if used with her SP2, the life drain never activates if her passive is going to activate at the end, making otherwise perfect gear somewhat anti-synergic. This does not affect heal on SP2 gear (e.g. Kryptonian Battle Suit).
Tantu Totem is also a powerful gear for Raven thanks to the crit chance boost and power gain on tag-in, supplying power for Raven to wreck an entire team, especially with the power refund on knock out blows. Her SP2 is fully ranged, so it can be fully chained from The Master's Death Cart's tag-in shots to land unblocked and also net some Area Effect damage.
Interactions[]
Please note that battles are highly situational: this section only mentions cards that have mechanics that, for any reason, are particularly effective with/against, or particularly ineffective against Raven. Having a card that "counters" Raven does not mean it is always a good choice.
Good With[]
- As stated above, characters/gears that increase power generation.
- Batgirl/Prime: Her immediate bar of starting power can be very useful in helping Raven activate her passive sooner.
- Wonder Woman/600: Wonder Woman can increase both Raven's power gen and damage by a large amount, allowing her to use specials more often and pack a larger punch while doing so.
Good Against[]
- Characters with particularly large health stats, such as Aquaman/Injustice 2, Scorpion/Mortal Kombat X, Wonder Woman/Dawn of Justice, and bosses.
- Hal Jordan/Red Lantern: Her percentage-based health steal can be truly crippling to him as the 25% of his health could have afforded him another SP2.
- Mother Box, and Riddler's Staff: Even if she did trigger the gears' blink effect, she'd still be able to both drain the opponent's power and their Health.
- Reverse Flash: Her passive activation is not counted as damage done by her special; additionally, it still activates before his passive does, meaning that even if it is the first time he is hit by a special and he has a 100% chance to regenerate, her passive can still KO him before his passive can activate.
- Batman/Batman Ninja: Her passive's heal, despite the similarity, is not considered a life drain; he is not immune to it even when outnumbered, albeit lesser amount of health is drained due to his damage reduction.
- The Joker/Prime, and The Joker/Insurgency: Should she defeat them and her passive activates, she can recover from the damage they inflict by draining the next opponent's health.
- Raven/Prime: The first half of her SP2 won't trigger the health swap, as stated in Strategy. Also, if Teen Titans Raven's specials bring Prime Raven to between 20% and 25% health and the former's passive is triggered, it will KO the latter without triggering the health swap.
- Superman/Injustice 2: If he tags in after his teammate is KO'd by Raven's special and her passive activates, he will receive damage from her passive and have his special immunity consumed. If he blocks her special, her passive will ignore his passive and activate even if he stops blocking.
Countered By[]
- Characters or gears that can power drain, such as Lex Luthor , Nightwing, Ra's al Ghul's Scimitar and Overpowered 5-U-93-R
- Catwoman/Batman Ninja : She gains Power Drain and Basic Attack boost when she tags in, allowing her to continuously shred her health and power easily
- Killer Frost: Prime's power dampening can severely hinder Raven's ability to activate her passive, and Regime's heal dampening can decrease Raven's heal from her passive.
- Superman/Injustice 2, Batman/Dawn of Justice, and The Flash/Wally West Rebirth: All three have a chance to completely avoid both Raven's specials and her passive when it activates.
- Doomsday/Containment: Doomsday is less affected than most by Raven's percentage-based health steal due to his low health and resurrections. However, while he consistently gains power from his passive, Raven's power drain applies after this and can drain his newly acquired power.
- Lobo/Prime, Static/Prime, Green Lantern/Red Lantern Hal Jordan, and Batman/Arkham Knight: They are immune to power drain.
- Superman/Blackest Night: His passive gives Blackest Night characters on his team immunity to block breakers. When they block Raven's passive, the damage taken is reduced by 50% (same as blocking specials), and this can be further reduced by block gear (e.g. Charged Disc). Power drain is not reduced however.

Trivia[]
- Her artifacts are: Boots, Cowl, Brooch, Cloak and Chest Piece.
- Her passive is very similar to her predecessor Raven/Prime in that, when both are activated, they involve a two-way trading of health percentages back and forth. Excepting cases where Teen Titans Raven passive either causes a knockout or would give her health exceeding 100%, the graphic sum of the health bar of the opponent and of either Raven remains the same.
- Moreover, unlike her predecessor, she can actually Knockout an opponent with her passive if she's able to steal AND reduce their health to zero, thus automatically KO'ing them. Additionally, upon the opponent get KO'd in this way, upon being power drained, it will read "Power Drain Immune" for them instead, regardless if they're immune to Power Drain or not.
- With her release, Raven becomes one of three challenge-only characters (along with Aquaman and Hawkgirl) to have at least 3 Challenge-exclusive characters.
- It was possible to receive upgrades for her before she was officially released.
- Additionally, it was possible to face her as an opponent in certain battle(s) for Challenge Mode and in certain rounds for Survivor Mode before her release.
- When her challenge aired, since Hawkgirl was needed as a requirement for her challenge, the Tag Team Pack was brought back. Later on the Bleed Out Pack and Ice Breaker Pack were brought back due to the fact that they contained Killer Frost and Scorpion, who are both also required for her challenge.
- She is the only version of Raven whose passive affects both health and power instead of either one of them.
- Interestingly, when her passive activates, sometimes the "Block Breaker" text will appear.
- Previously, there is a bug where her passive sometimes only work partially, only giving her power without draining it, or affecting health at all.
- She has the same base stats as Scorpion/Klassic but 65,000 credits cheaper.
