Hand-to-Hand Expert: Nightwing takes 50% LESS DAMAGE from Basic Attacks. |
Strategy[]
Basic Attacks[]
Basic combo | Damage pattern (% of damage stat) | Total (including Combo Ender) |
---|---|---|
Light (Combo Ender) | 2% - 2% - 2% - (3% - 3%) | 12% |
Heavy | 4% - 4% - 4% - 4% | 16% |
Passive[]
Nightwing Regime is a sturdy Silver Card with a good power drain, decent specials, excellent basic attacks (boasting both a 4-hit heavy combo and a 2-hit combo-ender), and a viable passive that allows him to shrug off basic attacks. Although he suffers the same wrath from special attacks, his strong power drain potential minimizes special damage taken. His power drain and second special can be used together to great effect, combining both tactics and brutality.
Gear[]
With Powered Eskrima Sticks, Overpowered 5-U-93-R, and Gauntlets of Azrael, Regime Nightwing can often demolish entire teams on his own through basic attacks alone. Ra's al Ghul's Scimitar, Mutated Bone Spikes, or Soultaker Sword are also decent alternatives for a basic-based build.
An effective defensive strategy is to instead equip him with fully maxed Gingold Soda and Killer Croc Companion Card EVOLVED. Both their basic damage reduction can stack with his passive, resulting in him taking no damage from basic attacks. Along with power generation gear such the the League of Assassins Adept Knives, Nightwing can continuously power drain opponents while taking no damage from basic attacks.
Interactions[]
Please note that battles are highly situational: this section only mentions cards that have mechanics that, for any reason, are particularly effective with/against, or particularly ineffective against Nightwing. Having a card that "counters" Nightwing does not mean it is always a good choice.
Good With[]
- Lex Luthor/Insurgency: Lex Luthor's passive allows his team to have increased health, going well with Nightwing's passive, making him more of a tank role.
- Killer Frost/Prime: Killer Frost's 50% power gain reduction allows Nightwing to keep power-draining the opponent when they haven't reached their specials yet. If Nightwing has the Gingold Soda and the Killer Croc Companion Card EVOLVED plus Killer Frost, then he will be very annoying to play against.
- The Flash/Regime: His speed boost along with Killer Frost's passive can make Nightwing a durable but swift warrior, as his opponent gains less power, but they also can't hit Nightwing because of his speed.
Good Against[]
- Heavy basic hitters such as Batman/Flashpoint, and Deathstroke/Flashpoint.
- Special-dependent characters such as Ares/Prime.
- Doomsday/Containment: His 16-hit SP2 can tear through Doomsday's revives.
Countered By[]
- Lobo/Prime, and Static/Prime: Both their passives makes them immune to Power Drain, the effect Nightwing's SP1 deals.
- Raven/Prime: Nightwing's 16-hit SP2 will trigger Raven's health swap, which is unaffected by Nightwing's basic damage reduction.
Abilities[]
Here are Nightwing's abilities.

Kali Fury can be chained from his heavy basics. It is also the only special for a silver character to be able to deal three knockout blows, making it convenient for rushing through standard difficulty challenge 3 (only bronzes and silvers allowed).

Trivia[]
- Unlike the other versions of Nightwing, this version (as mentioned in the console version by Batman) is actually Damian Wayne (Bruce Wayne's son with Talia al Ghul, the daughter of Ra's al Ghul) instead of Dick Grayson.
- His SP2 used to have the most amount of hits of any special in the game, with a total of 16, before being surpassed by The Flash/Wally West Rebirth's 21-hit SP2.
