Passive Cat Rage: Gains RAGE (5% POWER DRAIN and (175%-300%) DMG on Basic Attacks) for (6-21) seconds after she KO's an opponent, Tags-In, uses Special 2, or a teammate is KO'd. (Timer Stacks).

Each Batman Ninja teammate allows Catwoman to avoid a KO (once per teammate).

[Evolve]: (25%-50%) chance to STEAL opponent's gear per Dark Power bar used. Dark Power Bleed DoTs cannot be rinsed.

Batman Ninja Catwoman is a Metal character introduced in the 3.2 update. With powerful basic attacks and massive power drain, Catwoman is one of the most powerful characters in the game, being able to demolish an entire team alone. With the support of her Batman Ninja teammates, she is able to evade KO and turn the tide of battle on the brink of defeat.

Currently, she cannot be unlocked and can only be obtained through the Nth Metal Pack, the Nth Metal Pro Pack, and the Nth Metal Ultimate Pack which can only be bought by using the new currency, Nth Metal. She also has a very small chance of being given as a reward upon completion of the Phantom Zone event. Additionally, as a Metal character, it takes 25 total copies for her to get to EVII. As such, promoting her would take a long time or a large amount of real money.

Despite her base stats being double that of the best gold cards, that difference becomes less significant once she gains elite levels.

Strategy

Basic Attacks

Basic Combo Damage Pattern (% of damage stat) Total (including Combo Ender)
Light (Combo Ender) 2% - 2% - 2% - 2% - (4% - 4%) 16%
Heavy 4% - 4% - 4% 12%

Passive

RAGE

Batman Ninja Catwoman's Rage

Catwoman gains long, pink energy claws while RAGE is active.

Batman Ninja Catwoman's RAGE will massively increase her basic damage as well as grant the ability to apply power drain on every basic hit. It can be identified by her having larger pink energy claws on top of her normal ones (this visual effect remains active during her SP1, which does not interact with this part of her passive at all). The power drain amount stated in the passive is incorrect; it can actually drain all 3 bars of power with a single basic attack. It can power drain even if the opponent is starting a special (e.g. if they have 3 bars of power, and start a special 1, she can often drain all of the other 2 bars with one hit during the starting animation), but the opponent is observed to be immune to this power drain if in Online Battle. The power drain of her Cat Rage basic attacks seems to be proportional to the amount of basic attack damage dealt to the opponent in a single hit (notably, against later-round Survivor Mode opponents with astronomical health, her passive will drain minimal power as her basic attacks deal negligible damage against them). If the attack deals no damage (if it is deflected, for example), the visual effect of power drain will still be present but no power will be drained.

However, a character equipped with at least 2 pieces of the LexCorp Set can greatly benefit from Catwoman’s RAGE due to its ability to reverse power drain, gaining massive amounts of power instead. The LexCorp Helmet V2's powerful block enhance effect (block reduces up to 40% more damage; as blocking normally reduces 25% damage, this means that with the Helmet, they take 35% damage from basic attacks instead of 75%), and the LexCorp Chest Armor V2's strong life drain on SP2 are possibly the best pair for surviving against her deadly onslaught. If you start a special 2 right as her empowered basic attack is about to hit you, you will take no damage but instantly gain enough power to use another special 2.

While her RAGE itself does not stack, the timer does, allowing Catwoman to use it for longer periods. Due to the multitude of ways she can activate her RAGE (Tag-in, enemy KO, teammate is KO'd and on SP2 use), not only can she stack the timer very easily but she can also chain those uses in any order she wants, maximizing the passive duration as much as possible.

Batman Ninja Catwoman Rescue

Rescued by her Batman Ninja allies.

If Catwoman tags in because her teammate is KO'd, her passive only activates once. Her passive's timer will continue to count down while she is tagged out.

This is by far her most dangerous ability, and therefore, player should be extremely cautious against her. An unblocked basic combo during RAGE could be an instant Knockout for low-health characters.

Avoid KO

(See also: Rescue)

The second part of her passive works very akin to Batgirl/Arkham Knight's except in reverse where instead of rescuing her Batman Ninja teammates, her teammates rescue her. Therefore, it would be wiser if Catwoman was being KO'd first. Unlike Batgirl's rescue, there is no counter-attack involved and the enemy special is not interrupted. Catwoman simply disappears at 1 health and a teammate would tag in after the enemy special finishes. In a full Batman Ninja team, she would be able to be rescued twice, once per teammate used. If she is rescued during an opponent's basic attack combo, they are slowed down similar to when The Flash/Blackest Night gets a counter-attack opportunity.

This is triggered if you hit her when she's already at 1 health, even if that hit cannot KO her in the first place (e.g. if you reflect her special damage). The hit that triggers the rescue cannot inflict Area Effect damage.

Power drain on special hit (e.g. Cybernetic Exoskeleton on SP1) can trigger even if it can't deal damage because she was already at 1 health and about to escape.

Evolved

Batman Ninja Catwoman gear steal

Catwoman stealing gear from Jessica Cruz.

Despite the wording of her passive, when Catwoman uses a Dark Power Special, she has a chance to simply disable one of the opponent's gear. It does not add the effects to her own. The chance increases if she uses a Dark Power SP2. This effect is permanent, meaning there's no limited duration and tag-outs do not cleanse it. Gear is returned when Catwoman is KO'd.

The gear steal triggers at the start of the specials, therefore it can shatter opponents' defensive gears before dealing damage, making her specials especially dangerous.

She can disable gear even if the opponent has Invulnerability. Like Superman/Dawn of Justice's passive, characters with gear disabled has a debris cloud effect beneath them. Her disable gear effect can bypass Superman/Injustice 2's passive (unlike Claw of Horus and Superman/Dawn of Justice, which are blocked).

Using a Dark Power SP1 would cause her to inflict an Bleed DoT that cannot be rinsed, which will continuously affect the opponent even as they tag out, much like Catwoman/Arkham Knight.

Her passive can be upgraded so that her RAGE will triple her basic attack damage and last longer for 21 seconds and increase the chance for Dark Power Specials to steal gear. It seems the chances from 2 dark power bars don't stack additively or don't stack at all, as a fully upgraded Catwoman doesn't provide guaranteed gear disable even if the chance for each dark power bar is set to 50%.

Other

Batman Ninja Catwoman's tag-in attack

When Catwoman tags in, she unleashes an unblockable disorienting scream, opening up her opponent for unblocked attacks.

While not stated in her passive, upon tag-in, she performs an unblockable attack. It cannot KO the opponent even at low health. It deals damage equal to 4% of her damage stat (same as an unmodified heavy basic attack). The damage is modified by generic damage boosts (e.g. Batman/Prime), but not basic damage boosts (e.g. Superman/Red Son) or reductions (e.g. Nightwing/Prime). It can crit from Darkseid/Apokolips's Cursed effect.

When facing against her, it is important to know that this does not mean you can't block if she uses a special immediately (which would spell certain death for most characters). It seems like it won't work if you never remove your two fingers from the screen; instead, you have to release block and immediately start blocking again right after her scream hits you. The tag in attack looks very similar to the first hit of Tiger Claws, so don't be confused.

This tag-in attack can be interrupted with a special; it makes Catwoman vulnerable as this attack is automatic and she is unable to block while doing so. It could even be interrupted with precisely timed basic attacks, but this is not recommended due to the risk of being hit. To counter her by exploiting this mechanic, having a special attacks ready is recommended, especially with Tantu Totem equipped in case she equips Astro-Harness. When she tags in and perform the unblockable attack, simply use a special against her so she will be unable to block it, dealing massive damage, especially with crit.

Gear

Basic attack boost gears can't go wrong with her, especially crit chance for synergy with Batman/Batman Ninja, but since her basic attack is already so powerful, her power generation for special 2 should be considered to increase RAGE's duration. After being evolved and having passive upgraded, her RAGE lasts for very long time, up to 21 seconds and the basic damage boost is massively enchanted, rivaling Batman/Flashpoint's basic damage with crit damage augmented! Therefore, power generation boost gears can be used instead of basic damage gears, to combine her dark specials with her already powerful basic combos. Gauntlets of Azrael and Overpowered 5-U-93-R pair excellently with her high damage combo ender, allowing her to regain tons of health through their life drain effects.

Soultaker Sword is also an option, giving up to 30% unblockable chance on her deadly basic attacks, as well as life drain chance on SP2, and stealing enemy damage stat on KO, all synergising with her passive.

Astro-Harness is also a good option, as it will save Catwoman from opponent's specials whenever she performs her tag-in attack. In a full Batman Ninja team, she can have a total of 6 life-savers: 3 Astro-Harness invulnerabilities, 1 Astro-Harness power shield, and 2 Batman Ninja ally rescues. The power shield is only triggered after the rescues. Nekron's Scythe will add one more life-saver, thanks to its resurrection on a KO blow (which also triggers her passive). This resurrection is triggered after the power shield.

Interactions

Please note that battles are highly situational: this section only mentions cards that have mechanics that, for any reason, are particularly effective with/against, or particularly ineffective against Catwoman. Having a card that "counters" Catwoman does not mean it is always a good choice.

Good With

  • The Joker/The Killing Joke: His passive can help Catwoman activate her SP2 faster, which in turn will help Catwoman activate her RAGE easily.
  • Wonder Woman/600: Wonder Woman gives Catwoman additional 30% damage and power generation.
  • Batman/Gaslight: Catwoman can drain power, forcing the opponent to use basic attacks that will miss.
  • Catwoman/Batman Returns: Batman Returns Catwoman can increase the damage of Batman Ninja Catwoman's bleed that cannot be rinsed.
  • Hawkgirl/Prime: Her passive allows Catwoman to utilize Cat Rage more often.
  • Batman Ninja characters, namely:
    • Nightwing/Batman Ninja: When a Batman Ninja teammate rescues Catwoman, the opponent will be power drained. When Catwoman tags in, the power drain will prevent the enemy from initiating a special and dodging her tag attack.
    • Batman/Batman Ninja: His crit chance and power boost on crit will help her activate her SP2 faster, increasing RAGE's duration.

Good Against

Countered By

  • Static/Prime, Lobo/Prime: These characters are immune to power drain.
  • Batman/Arkham Knight: Batman can choose two out of immunity to power drain, crit or DOT, rendering most of Catwoman's attacks useless.
  • The Flash/Blackest Night: The Flash, as well as all Blackest Night teammates, will be healed by Catwoman's DOT and will also receive power from it. Also, due to his passive allowing basic attacks to miss, it would be much harder for Catwoman to use her powerful basic attacks against him.
  • Superman/Blackest Night: He works well with Blackest Night Flash and also makes all Blackest Night teammates immune to block breaking attacks, making it easier to deny Catwoman's pressure on tag-in.
  • Batman/Gaslight: His passive allows him to dodge tag-in attacks and the bat swarm causes basic attacks to miss his teammates when they tag in.
  • Black Adam/Regime: His passive will trigger on her unblockable tag-in attack, damaging and staggering her, giving you extra time to react. If she is already at critical health, this can KO her.
  • Harley Quinn/Arkham Knight: Catwoman activating her Cat Rage upon Tag-In will make her unable to block, and thus, will have a chance to get hit by Harley Quinn's surprise attack if she's tagged out.
  • Zatanna/Prime: If Zatanna KO'es Catwoman's teammate with her SP2 and picks the Hermit card, it will stagger Catwoman when she is forced to tag in, cancelling her tag in attack.
  • LexCorp Set: Attacking an enemy with 2 pieces of the LexCorp set while Cat Rage is active will essentially guarantee them a full power bar, spelling big trouble for Catwoman.

Abilities

Here are Catwoman's abilities.

Ability Classification Description Usage
Cat Claws First Special Metal claws tear into Catwoman's opponent. BLEED: DAMAGE-OVER-TIME for 10 seconds. Rapid Swipe
Tiger Claws Second Special Catwoman's scream disorients the enemy, then she slashes them to pieces with her Tiger Claws. Quick Tap, Rapid Swipe
Nine Lives Super Move Catwoman merges strength and agility to launch an unstoppable barrage of pain. UNBLOCKABLE. Tap

Her special 1's bleed does not cause it to be penalised the same way other Catwoman cards are. It is the second strongest special 1 in the game, dealing 84% of her damage stat, with Deadshot/Suicide Squad being first, at 87.5% after minigames. With good timing, it is possible for Catwoman to "pick up" her opponent with a light attack upon knocking them to the ground with her SP1 (it has to land unblocked). It is possible for other Catwoman characters to do the same.

Tiger Claws cannot KO other than on the last hit (including triggering Resurrect; i.e. if you have a Resurrect effect, Tiger Claws will bring you to 1 health, then the last hit would finally trigger the Resurrect, allowing you to survive). It would normally be possible to chain Tiger Claws off her heavy basic combo, but the AI can block it due to inconsistencies in the game's code. It is still possible on occasion. When maxed, her special 2 deals between 100% and 216% of her damage stat, depending on minigame performance. The final hit gains the damage boost from both minigames. For example, if she reaches 130% on the first minigame and 140% on the second, the last hit will deal 170% of minimum damage, which is 33% of her damage stat. This is a very rare property that's also shared by her Batman/Batman Ninja and Lord Joker/Batman Ninja teammates.

Trivia

  • She is the only female character to have a Metal tier version.
  • She is the only Batman Ninja character to not have a legendary Batman Ninja gear specific to her.
  • A boss version of Batman Ninja Catwoman is currently the final boss of Standard Battle. While her card displays 203K Damage and 590K Health, percentage health effects indicate she actually has over 1.7 million health.
  • As her stealing gear mechanic is completely unique and difficult to test, there are potentially hundreds of unique interactions that are currently unknown. For example:
    • In a mirror match, can Catwoman re-steal an enemy Catwoman's stolen gear? Does this potentially allow for a single Catwoman to have 18 pieces of gear?
    • Does the Regenerate on Fourth World Set and LexCorp Gauntlets V2 share cooldown?
    • Do multiples of the same gear stack, and how?
    • If Disable Gear has been applied on the enemy by other sources, can Catwoman still steal it?
    • If Catwoman with stolen gear is KO'ed, and she was being affected by Disable Gear, will it remain disabled when returned (Solomon Grundy/Earth 2's disable is "for the rest of match")?
    • Fourth World Set's Resurrect is unique in that the % health is determined not only by equipped gear, but any pieces you own, even if not equipped. How does that work?
