Nasty Scratch: 25% chance to apply BLEED: DAMAGE-OVER-TIME and power drain effects on combo ender. Stacks 3 times. |
An often overlooked character, Ame-Comi Catwoman is rarely used due to her weak passive. She is also completely overshadowed by Catwoman/Arkham Knight, who was released shortly before.
Strategy[]
Basic Attacks[]
Basic combo | Damage pattern (% of damage stat) | Total (including Combo Ender) |
---|---|---|
Light (Combo Ender) | 2% - 2% - 2% - (3%) | 9% |
Heavy | 4% - 4% - 4% | 12% |
Passive[]
Either Ra's Al Ghul's Scimitar or the Gauntlets of Azrael can further increase her power, while her power drain effect will constantly drain ~1/13 of opponent's power when applied. The bleed effect deals 0.5% of her damage stat per second for 12 seconds (6% total). If Nasty Scratch triggers again while it is running, the duration is refreshed and the damage becomes 1% (12% total), then if triggered again, 1.5% (18% total).
Her passive has a low chance to activate and the damage and power drain is quite low, and her light basic combo has a long finishing animation preventing her from using it repeatedly (she usually has to block afterwards to prevent being hit by enemy basics). This make her a largely negligible card.
Her SP1, Cat Claws, is a unique form of bleed; if it is re-triggered by Quake Engine, or reversed by Aquaman/Injustice 2, it loses the power drain property (the sparking visual effect is also removed) and becomes a regular bleed. If re-triggered by Quake Engine, another application of Nasty Scratch can still stack on top of it like normal, regaining the power drain and visual effect. However, refreshing the bleed like this is not considered a new DOT, and it won't be re-triggered by Quake Engine again.
Gear
Catwoman's Special 2 can apply The Ibistick, League of Assassins Adept Blade, and LexCorp Helmet V2's DOT twice. Quake Engine is a decent choice since she has power drain to lower enemy's power.
Her SP2 can be chained from The Master's Death Cart's tag-in shots, making her a decent attacker when combined with Tantu Totem. In fact, it's her most common setup because of her bad passive, and this build can take advantage of her high base stats.
Interactions[]
Please note that battles are highly situational: this section only mentions cards that have mechanics that, for any reason, are particularly effective with/against, or particularly ineffective against Catwoman. Having a card that "counters" Catwoman does not mean it is always a good choice.
Good With[]
- Catwoman/Batman Returns: She can help to increase the damage-over-time dealt once Ame-Comi Catwoman manages to deal bleed damage onto the opponent.
- Wonder Woman/600: Wonder Woman can boost Ame-Comi's damage and power generation.
Good Against[]
- Reverse Flash: His passive states that it removes all DOT effects but only if it's from a special. As such, both Catwoman's bleed and power drain effect can be used on him as it is part of her combo ender and not a special.
Countered By[]
- Aquaman/Injustice 2: The natural enemy of DOT characters, he can deal back DOT that Catwoman applies onto him.
- Any characters that are immune to power drain such as Static/Prime, Lobo/Prime, and characters equipped with the LexCorp Set.
- Batman/Arkham Knight: His versatile passive allows him to choose to be immune to BOTH of Catwoman's unique effects.
- The Flash/Blackest Night: He and his Blackest Night teammates can heal and gain power from DOT. Flash can also evade her basic attacks, making it harder for her to execute combo ender.
- Batman/Gaslight: His bat swarm can cause her basic attacks to miss, disabling her combo ender.
Abilities[]
Here are Catwoman's abilities.
Ability | Classification | Description | Usage |
---|---|---|---|
Cat Claws | First Special | Metal claws tear into Catwoman's opponent. BLEED: DAMAGE-OVER-TIME for 10 seconds. | Rapid Swipe |
Pouncing Blows | Second Special | Catwoman jumps at her foe, performing deadly slashing attacks. | Rapid Swipe (x2) |
Nine Lives | Super Move | Catwoman merges strength and agility to launch an unstoppable barrage of pain. UNBLOCKABLE. | Tap |
Same to other Catwoman characters, she can chain her heavy combo into SP1, and SP1 into light and heavy combo.
Like Catwoman/Batman Returns, she can chain her heavy basic into her SP2, Pouncing Blows. She can also chain her light attacks into her SP2 if you don't perform the combo ender. Pouncing Blows applies DOT from The Ibistick, League of Assassins Adept Blade, and LexCorp Helmet V2 twice, on the first and last hits.
