The Batman Ninja Helmet is a piece of Legendary (5-Star) Gear, evolved from the Epic (4-Star) gear, Sengoku Helmet. The unevolved version can be obtained by ranking in the top 5% of certain Online Battle seasons, or as a possible reward in the Worst Heroes Ever Bundle, The Dawn of Justice Triple Pack, Nth Metal Pro Packs, or Nth Metal Ultimate Packs.
It was introduced in Patch 2.21.
Effects
- 20% - 40% MAX HEALTH increase
- For every 5% of available POWER, damage received is reduced by 1% - 2.3%.
- [Batman] For every 10% of available POWER, CRIT chance is increased by 1% - 3%.
- [EVOLVED] 25% - 50% chance to resist POWER DRAIN
Mechanics
Damage Reduction
The more power users have, the less damage they receive when equipping this helmet. This is universal damage reduction that reduces damage from basic attacks, specials, DOT and many other sources. The damage reduction is given in discrete blocks each requiring 5% power, and not continuous (e.g. if you have 4% power you will not get any damage reduction at all).
Oddly, it is observed if the user is the starting fighter, and does not have any starting power, Batman Ninja Helmet would start off granting them 50% damage reduction (despite having 0% power) until they reach at least 5% power, at which point the damage reduction drops to whatever value is appropriate (this is observed with the non-upgraded gear). This is particularly noticeable with Martian Manhunter/Blackest Night, who starts with his passive's blue buff which also gives 50% damage reduction, resulting in him taking 0 damage from attacks as long as it is active and he doesn't gain power.
Crit Chance
The more power Batman has, the more crit chance this helmet provides. This is universal crit chance for Batman and therefore, all attacks that aren't impossible to crit (The Master's Death Cart's tag-in shots can't crit for example) will affected by this crit chance (basic, specials, DOT, etc.). The crit chance stacks additively with other sources of crit such as Augment. The crit chance boost is given in discrete blocks each requiring 10% power, and not continuous (e.g. if Batman has 9% power he will not get any bonus crit chance at all).
Resist Power drain
Resisting power drain means losing no power from power drain effect. It's not power drain immunity, therefore, Power Steal effect will give its user power while not removing any power from the target.
Strategy
The Batman Ninja Helmet, especially when maxed out, is best to be geared on Batman characters, namely Batman/Batman Ninja and Batman/Flashpoint.
This gear provides the largest health boost out of any other gear, tied with Brandished Ninjato and Fourth World Godly Chest Plate. This combined with the damage mitigation that slowly increases as power increases can make its user an effective tank. It also provides a chance to resist power drain, similar to but otherwise less effective than Static/Prime and Lobo/Prime's all time power drain immunity.
This gear, while made to be defensive for others, is made to be versatile for Batman, for he can take advantage of the exclusive effect that is made for him, in which his crit chance slowly increases as his power increases.
Given the gear's name, appearance and effects, it is best suited on Batman/Batman Ninja. With a maxed out Batman Ninja Helmet, 3 bars of power (46% damage reduction) and when outnumbered (another 50% less damage), it will result in 96% DAMAGE REDUCTION for Batman, even if he's not blocking in this situation. Since blocking reduces basic attacks’ damage by 25% and Special attacks’ damage by 50%, if he is blocking in the same scenario:
- Basic Attacks Damage Reduction: 50% + 46% + 1% (25% of 4%, the remaining when you subtract 100% to 96%) = 97% Damage Reduction (receives 3% of Basic Attacks’ Damage)
- Special Attacks Damage Reduction: 50% + 46% + 2% (50% of 4%, the remaining when you subtract 100% to 96%) = 98% Damage Reduction (receives 2% of Special Attacks’ Damage)
As for DOT, he also receives less damage when equipped with the said gear and is under the same circumstances.
Additionally, when this is combined with the Killer Croc Companion Card EVOLVED and the Gingold Soda, Batman Ninja Batman can be totally immune to both basic and special attacks. This tactic can also apply to some level to other characters with defense buffs, including Martian Manhunter/Blackest Night, Shazam/New 52, and Superman/New 52. However, unlike Invulnerability or absolute special attack immunity (e.g. Superman/Injustice 2's passive), reducing a special attack's damage to zero is possible, but it does not necessarily negate secondary effects (e.g. Superman/Dawn of Justice's Shattering Blow can apply on the first hit of his special attacks even if it cannot deal damage, disabling all gear on his opponent and allowing the following hits to deal damage).
When Aquaman/Flashpoint or his Flashpoint teammates have their water shields active, they can immune to special attack damage and keep the shields active forever if they can stack enough special attack damage reduction from sources like Killer Croc Companion Card EVOLVED, Shazam/New 52 and LexCorp Helmet V2 (when blocking only) as long as they have enough power to fill the special attack damage reduction to 100%.
For Batman characters, they can benefit from the increasing crit chance the gear provides. If equipped with the Helmet at maximum fusion, gaining full power will grant them 30% crit chance. This stacks with other sources of critical chance. Therefore, if Batman/Batman Ninja is fully augmented with critical chance (50%), due to his passive giving another 20% crit chance to other Batman Ninja characters, he can have 100% crit chance on all attacks. It suits well on Batman/Batman Ninja as he gains more power on crit, further increasing the crit chance.

Trivia
- The Batman Ninja Helmet along with the Quake Engine, and the Brandished Ninjato are currently the only non-set legendary gears in the game to have 3 unequal values for the shard types.
- This is the second Batman-specific Legendary gear after the Militarized Batmobile.
